In a preliminary bout for UFC on ESPN 6, UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter alumni, Court McGee (19-8) will be fighting undefeated prospect, Sean Brady (10-0) in Boston, Massachusetts. McGee will be trying to put himself in the win column after his most recent loss to Dhiego Lima back in April. Brady will be making his UFC debut after winning the Cage Fury FC welterweight title from Taj Abdul-Hakim back in February.

McGee has been in the UFC for nearly a decade since winning Season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter. His career dates back to fights with Josh Neer, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Jeremy Horn, Ben Saunders, and even defeating future middleweight champ, Robert Whittaker. McGee also had a short professional boxing career, in the beginning, winning two decision victories back in 2008. But before all of these fighting accomplishments, McGee fought drug addiction. In the mid-2000s, McGee was “unemployable” and “stealing to fuel his addiction.” His heroin addiction would eventually lead to an overdose in his cousin’s house. While recovering, McGee had to relearn to walk, talk, and overall function.

After this, McGee used martial arts as a means of becoming stronger and keeping himself out of trouble. The next several years would see him transform into the fighter he is today. Just a few years ago, he used a Kickstarter to begin Hope 361. This organization is to help those battling drug addiction.
As of late, Court McGee joins a list of recognizable veteran fighters that have found themselves on the preliminary bouts. But for now, his experience is a significant advantage over the incoming Sean Brady.

As a fighter out of Renzo Gracie Philly and holding Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Daniel Gracie, Brady has looked impressive in all of his professional fights. He is extremely well-rounded, and his perfect record stems back to his first amateur match. Even in the fights Brady has had where he doesn’t win by unanimous decision, he overmatches his opponents.

The former CFFC champion and LFA contender signed his UFC deal back in March of 2019. Now, Sean Brady will be making his UFC debut against Court McGee on a card headlined by Chris Weidman and Dominick Reyes. Although, pressure won’t seem to be a factor to Brady since he has won the welterweight title in Cage Fury twice with a title defense to add to his credit. McGee’s long experience in the UFC stands out as a factor alongside his former career as a boxer. Of course, Brady has some hype behind him with his perfect record and the fact he’s defeated former TUF winner, Colton Smith. The fight promises to deliver a compelling matchup between the veteran and the newcomer to the octagon.
UFC on ESPN 6 will be airing live on October 18th (a Friday) on ESPN2. The preliminary bout will begin at 5 pm Central time while the main card will begin at 8 pm Central time.
